This badge was designed and distributed in 1973. It was worn by members of the Adelaide Gay Activists Alliance (GAA).
Gay was a new term in Australia, and was mainly used by younger, more radical, groups of homosexual men and women. At the time it was an inclusive term. It symbolised the unity of the emerging gay rights movement in Australia.
