The Crimean War was a military conflict between the Russian Empire and an alliance of France, Britain, the Ottoman Empire and Sardinia, fought from 1853 to 1856. As part of the British Empire, the Australian colonies established volunteer corps and rifle clubs to send to fight with Britain.
