The Letters Patent1836

The Letters Patent establishing the Province of South Australia included a clause stating that they should not be read as affecting ‘the rights of any Aboriginal Natives … to the actual occupation or enjoyment … of any Lands therein now actually occupied or enjoyed by such Natives’.
