The Vietnam War was a military conflict from 1962 to 1975 between South Vietnam and North Vietnam. Australia sent 60,000 personnel to fight in support of South Vietnam and alongside its allied, including the United States. The war caused social and political dissent at home, particularly in response to conscription.
