Session 7, Thursday 11 June 2020: SOUTH AUSTRALIAN HISTORY WITH KEITH CONLON
Keith Conlon will share with us his passion for the history for South Australia and the importance for all citizens in our state to know and consider the uniqueness of the South Australian story. Only through such local historical knowledge can we really understand civics in the South Australian setting and how the events and nature of our society have evolved. To engage students in the South Australian story, Keith will discuss the detail and nuances of our unique history. As the Chair of the Heritage Council of South Australia, media personality and performer, Keith is a master storyteller and will spend time with us to unravel the story of South Australia and articulate the importance of historical knowledge to civics and citizenship programs in schools.
How to get involved:
1. Register for specific sessions on Eventbrite and make note of the digital platform being used.
2. Plan your questions.
3. You will be contacted with an invitation to attend on the digital platform.
In association with the Governor’s Civics Awards for Schools, this initiative is being conducted by the Department for Education, the Parliament of South Australia and the History Trust.
